can i have the exact difference between commit_form and do_key('commit_form')?

COMMIT_FORM performs what is described in Forms Help (search for it).

DO_KEY('COMMIT_FORM') calls the KEY-COMMIT trigger which, besides COMMIT_FORM, can contain additional code.

However KEY-COMMIT doesn't have to contain commit_form.
And if you exit a form and get the "Do you want to save changes" message, clicking yes does not fire key-commit.
That last fact renders the key-commit trigger useless as far as I can see.
